The MTR said at about 1:00 p.m. that the incident had been resolved and the East Rail Line train service had returned to normal.

MTR stated that at 12:18 noon, a male passenger was found entering the track area when a train on the East Rail Line in the direction of Sheung Shui entered the platform of Tai Wo Station.

The platform staff and the train conductor immediately pressed the emergency button to stop the train, and the station staff immediately went to the scene to deal with it, and notified the train control center to call the police and notify the fire department.

With the assistance of firefighters, the injured were taken away from the track and sent to hospital for treatment.

CCTV footage of the platform showed that the male passenger involved suddenly shook his body while waiting for the train on the platform of Taihe Station. When the train entered the platform area, he lost his balance and fell forward onto the rails.

During the accident, the train service of the East Rail Line had to be adjusted, and the service between Tai Po Market and Fanling Station was temporarily suspended.

By about 1:12 p.m., the accident was resolved and train services on the East Rail Line gradually returned to normal.
