Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said: Providing Kyiv with offensive weapons by the West will lead to a global catastrophe, and retaliatory measures by Russia using more deadly weapons.
Volodin wrote on his own page in Telegram: “Supplying the Kyiv regime with offensive weapons will lead to a global catastrophe. If Washington and NATO countries supply weapons that are used to strike cities and try to seize our lands as they threaten, this will lead to retaliatory measures using more of our deadly weapons.” Pointing out that members of the US Congress, representatives of the German Bundestag, the French National Assembly and other European parliaments must realize their responsibility towards humanity.
Volodin added: “By their decisions, Washington and Brussels are leading the world into a terrible war, into a completely different kind of hostilities than it is. Today, strikes are carried out exclusively on the military and critical infrastructure used by the Kyiv regime.”
And Volodin considered that “the argument of some countries about the fact that major powers did not use weapons of mass destruction in local conflicts before is unacceptable in the current situation,” saying: “These powers have never faced a situation in which the security of their citizens and the unity and integrity of their lands would be at risk.”
Western countries intensified their military support to Ukraine, against the background of the Russian special military operation in February last year, as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned earlier that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for the Russian forces.
