Without a car in Tel Aviv? A new cooperative car project

The collaborative vehicle project of the Shlomo Group in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Municipality is underway. The purpose of the partnership is to offer the residents of the city an alternative for intercity travel that will eliminate the need for car maintenance


The variety of cooperative transportation in Tel Aviv is currently being joined by a new venture of a cooperative vehicle.

The project of the Shlomo Group that won the tender issued by the Tel Aviv Municipality is designed to provide car rental on an hourly or daily basis for long-distance travel.

This is a complementary service to the old 'Auto-Tel' project, which is mainly intended for short-term cooperative car rentals within the city.

The service offered by the Shlomo company is part of its immediate car rental system called "Shloma Share" which operates in 80 cities, and enables car rental immediately through a dedicated application with pre-registration.

In the first phase, 100 available vehicles will be offered in Tel Aviv that will be located in a number of strategic locations in the city assigned by the municipality, as users will be able to rent and return the vehicles from those designated parking lots

The cost of use is 79 shekels for the first 3 hours, and then an hourly charge of about five shekels, when the price of fuel and insurance without a deductible are included in the rental price.

Uniquely, the project will also allow young drivers aged 18 and over with a year's experience to rent a car for an additional fee.

According to the Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv Mittal Lehbi, the purpose of the project is to provide an alternative and to inculcate the habits of cooperative transportation for the younger generation as well, with the aim of reducing the dependency and ownership of private vehicles of Tel Aviv residents.

This is the place to point out that according to the city's data, almost half of the city's residents do not own a private car.
