Last Saturday the 21st, the emblematic summer race was held in Mar del Plata: the
10k Open Sports Puma
.
With seats sold out,
1,700 runners
set out from Plaza España to run this Mar del Plata running classic.
Under the organization of Mutti Eventos, the race had
two modalities: 10k and 5k
.
Already at the warm-up (in charge of the Puma ambassador, Esteban Dietz) it was possible to perceive the latent enthusiasm, not only of the people of Mar del Plata but also of the tourists whose participation increases year after year.
That is why it is no coincidence that this event, resonant in sports matters, celebrates its
first decade thanks to the unconditional support of the people
.
The call, as usual, also reflected the participation of people who traveled especially from different corners of the country, such as Tucumán, González Catán, Jujuy or Salta.

In this regard, José Mutti, from the organizing firm, pointed out: "

. After 10 years, they have been growing step by step, kilometer by kilometer and today we indulge, in the tenth anniversary, of having the full quota, having the support of the brands and receiving
runners from all over the country, who enjoyed this coastal
, flat, fast circuit in both modalities: 5k and 10k.No matter how the weather is, the important thing is how the runner is on the inside and all those who come to accompany him".
One of the keys is that the circuit, from Plaza España to Camet and back (for the 10k) and from Plaza España to the Av. Constitución roundabout and back (for the 5k), is flat and suitable for anyone I wanted to join the challenge.
Complemented with the incredible views that the Mar del Plata coast displays
, the result is spectacular.
At eight in the morning, the runners' anxiety increased between shouts of encouragement and a loud unison countdown.
In a unique setting, the last movements in the place took place, the jumps to stimulate the legs, a drone from above recording the joy, the photographers ready to shoot their cameras and the greetings of the participants.
Everything ready and running, with intensity and dedication.
Trying to
flesh out the slogan that defines Open Sports: “Exceed your goals
”.
#LaCarreraDelVerano was developed with the assistance of the security services of the Argentine Red Cross
and taking care of the permanent hydration of the participants, both during the activity and once it was finished.
In addition, the entire event had electronic control and a technical T-shirt with a design developed especially for the occasion.
The support of family members, children and onlookers who enjoyed - mate in hand - on the margins made itself felt, and provided a family and motivating atmosphere to the performance of the runners.

With a finisher's medal around their necks and restoring their bodies with a piece of fruit, the registrants were able to enjoy the awards ceremony of a race that was a complete success:
$850,000 distributed for the general and 11 categories.
Each one of the members of the general podium in both distances of the 10k Open Sports Puma received, in addition to an economic prize, their respective trophies.
