“Here is my home..my land is here..the Israeli occupation wants to demolish our homes and displace us..we were born and raised on the land of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar..and we will remain in it and will not allow the occupation to displace and uproot us.” With these challenging words, Youssef Abu Dahouk, a resident of the village east of Occupied Jerusalem told SANA reporter, its people's determination to resist the occupation's plans to demolish it and displace them from it.
Abu Dahuk said: Hundreds of Palestinians flocked since the early morning hours to Al-Khan Al-Ahmar in a message to the Israeli occupation that the Palestinian people will continue the battle of their steadfastness on their land and the land of their ancestors, and will not allow the displacement, uprooting and ethnic cleansing plans to pass.
He added: I am 41 years old, and my family consists of ten members, and I was born and raised on this land, and the age of my father and grandfather is longer than the age of this occupation, which is doomed to end, and we are victorious with our determination, steadfastness, and clinging to our land, and we will die on our land and we will not leave.
Abu Dahouk pointed out that dozens of families live in the village, indicating that the occupation plan to displace them is a repetition of the Nakba of 1948, when the Palestinian people were displaced from their land to the ends of the earth.
In turn, Muhammad Ibrahim, 53 years old from Khan al-Ahmar, confirmed that the people of the village are determined to defend the land until martyrdom, and they will not allow a repetition of the Nakba scenario and the settlers' seizure of their land and the demolition of their homes, stressing that struggle, steadfastness and resistance are the way to thwart the plans of displacement and uprooting through which the occupation wants Liquidating the Palestinian presence in the area extending from East Jerusalem to the Dead Sea.
In the name of dozens of children, women, and the people of Khan al-Ahmar, Ibrahim appealed to the living consciences of the world to take action to stop the new episodes of the Nakba and the displacement and ethnic cleansing operations that target not only Khan al-Ahmar, but all Palestinian villages and towns.
For his part, the head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Moayed Shaaban, explained that the occupation plans, after the displacement of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar, to demolish 45 Palestinian villages inhabited by thousands, extending from east Jerusalem to the Dead Sea area, to complete the siege of Jerusalem from the eastern side, uprooting the Palestinian presence, and separating the city from the Jordan Valley and the sea. dead.
Shaaban pointed out that the national and popular activities participated today in the stand organized by the Commission on the land of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar, to confront the plans of the Israeli occupation to displace the people of the village surrounded by settlements, calling on the Palestinian people with all their forces to support the people of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar, as happened previously in their battle against the occupation.
Director of the Jerusalem International Center, Hassan Khater, pointed out that the Palestinian people have thwarted, during the past years, all attempts by the occupation to demolish the village, which constitutes a stumbling block to its settlement plans, indicating that Al-Khan Al-Ahmar represents the first link within a Judaization scheme to establish a settlement bloc that extends from East Jerusalem to Jericho.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the heinous campaign of incitement by Israeli ministers and Knesset members to demolish the village, including calls to storm it and attack its people, stressing that Al-Khan Al-Ahmar is Palestinian land, while the settlement is void and illegal according to international law.
The ministry called on the international community to stop the occupation plans to demolish Al-Khan Al-Ahmar and take the necessary measures to ensure that they are not implemented, explaining that this new, old, colonial and racist plan aims to carry out massive settlement operations in the area extending from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea, to completely separate Jerusalem from the rest of its Palestinian surroundings. And flooding it with more huge settlement blocs.
