International Tourism
Fair (FITUR), one of the most important events for the sector worldwide, which takes place every year in Madrid, the 50 Destinations Plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation received the Award Excellencies.
With more than 230 works underway, 50 Destinations finances tourism infrastructure throughout the country with the aim of boosting activity, strengthening and expanding the tourism offer, both in consolidated and emerging destinations.
These awards, created 18 years ago by the Excelencias Group, a Spanish company specializing in communication in Latin America, have become a benchmark in the field of tourism, gastronomy and culture in the region.
In this edition, 39 awards from 19 countries were awarded.
The work of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation and INPROTUR once again receive international awards.
During 2022, works were inaugurated at the federal level, such as the enhancement of the Parque Retorno de Perico (Jujuy), the El Chocón Bird Viewpoint, the Selva Triste Protected Natural Area and the Parador Cascada La Fragua in Manzano Amargo (Neuquén), the Apeadero station in La Trochita (Río Negro), the Hotel La Recova in La Punta (San Luis), the Bioparque de Posadas, the Tourist Information Center of San Ignacio and Leandro N. Alem (Misiones) and Camping Valle Grande in San Rafael (Mendoza), among others.
"Since the beginning of the administration, we have set the objective of working simultaneously on the promotion and development of tourism, because they complement, enhance and strengthen regional economies, generating genuine employment," said the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías, during the ceremony. lammens.
"Through a historic investment in works and the credit obtained from the IDB for USD 33 million to promote nature tourism, we aim for each destination to have first-class infrastructure that improves the experience of national and international tourists," the official concluded. accompanied by the executive secretary of the National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR), Ricardo Sosa, and the secretary of Tourism Promotion, Yanina Martínez.
In this way, the work of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation and INPROTUR once again receive international awards.
At FITUR 2022, it was recognized for the successful PreViaje program, which marked a before and after in the history of policies applied in tourism, and for the launch of the new Visit Argentina website.
In the context of the recovery of receptive tourism, with more than 25 provincial and municipal authorities, and 58 representatives of the private sector, the intense agenda of the Argentine delegation headed by Lammens at FITUR included the signing of agreements to promote Argentina in Europe with the airline Iberia;
with El Corte Inglés, one of the main operators in Spain;
with the tour operator Viajes Catai – Avoris;
and with Destinia, the first online travel agency in Spain.
