For nearly two years now, the future of Catherine Pegard, president of the Versailles estate, has been scrutinized by cultural circles, everyone losing themselves in conjecture.
Didn't the President of Versailles turn 68 this summer, a year older than the cut-off age to run a public establishment?
And was she not due to complete her mandate last March?
A week ago, when 300 people were expected in the Grande Halle de la Villette to receive greetings from the Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul Malak, the latter added a piece to the jukebox.
“Catherine Pgard has done a remarkable job and continues to innovate, as with the new arts and crafts campus.
In 2024, the Versailles estate will be an important site for the Olympic Games, so I would find it legitimate for her to stay until that date
, ”she said in an interview with
Le Monde
the same morning.
