Dozens of flights were canceled today (Monday) at the main airport in Great Britain due to fog and freezing cold.
The temperatures in the area of the airport near London dropped to minus 8.4 degrees Celsius - the coldest night in the area since 2010, and the coldest night in January since 1987. The runways were filled with ice, and at the airport about 80 outgoing and incoming flights had to be canceled.

A spokesman for Heathrow Airport defined the changes as "minor", and said that the airport "works in close cooperation with the airlines to get passengers back on their flights as quickly as possible".
In London they said that the temperatures will reach only 4 degrees, while in Northern Ireland they are expected to reach up to 10 degrees.
