After the deadly shooting at a dance hall in Monterey Park near Los Angeles, police are still looking for a motive for the alleged perpetrator, who was found dead in his van on Sunday.
On Saturday evening, the 72-year-old shot ten people – and apparently wanted to kill more people in a club in the neighboring town.
26-year-old Brandon Tsay stopped the perpetrator, Tsay tells ABC:

I was in the lobby. It was already late in the evening. Most of our guests had already left. I didn't pay attention to the front door. I looked at the ballroom, at the dance floor. At that moment, I heard the front door creaking, closing, and then metal objects clinking as if banging against each other. At that moment I turned around and saw an Asian man with a gun in his hand. My first thought was that I would die here. That's it.
It got to me. I realized I had to take the gun away from him. I had to take the gun from him, disarm him, otherwise everyone would have died. Finding the courage, I lunged at him with both hands, grabbed the gun, and we fought. We fought in the lobby, trying to take each other's guns. He slapped my face and hit the back of my head. I tried to elbow the gun away from him to gain some distance. Eventually I managed to pull the gun away from him, push him aside, create some distance, point the gun at him, and intimidate him. I yell at him and say, 'Get the fuck out! I will shoot! Get lost! Go!' And at that point I thought he was going to run away but he just stood there thinking whether to fight or run away. I really thought I would have to shoot him if he came towards me. At that moment he turned, walked out the door and jogged back to his van. Gun in hand, I immediately called the police.
I shivered all night. I couldn't believe what had happened. can.

Without Tsay, more people would have died.
The shooting happened during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
