Through a statement, the Venezuelan government reported that Nicolás Maduro will not attend the Celac summit that is being held in Argentina.
According to information from the Venezuelan Ministry of Communications, the reason for the suspension of the president's trip would be security.
The statement says that the Venezuelan government was informed of an alleged "plan to attack" the delegation headed by Nicolás Maduro.

CNN is requesting information from the Argentine government about the alleged plan against the Venezuelan president and we are waiting for a response.
On behalf of Venezuela, only its foreign minister has attended.

Earlier it had been reported that a bilateral meeting that Maduro was going to hold with the new president of Brazil, Luis Inácio "Lula" da Silva, had been suspended.
The meeting was scheduled for this Monday.
