And if the ski resorts, which are preparing for the next February holidays, could not offer its enthusiasts all of its activities?
This is what the entire mountain sector fears in view of two unlimited strike notices filed by two ski lift unions on January 31 at midnight, the second day of national demonstration against pension reform.
This Monday, Force Ouvrière joined the CGT in its mobilization, according to RMC.
Between them, the unions obtained almost 100% of the votes in the last elections in the ski lift sector.
“We decided to call a strike during the February holidays, because the demands will be better heard during this period”
, explains Eric Becker, general secretary of the ski lifts at Force Ouvrière.

Pension reform: calculate the age at which you will finally leave
Although
“unlimited”
, this strike notice does not mean that ski lift employees will not return to work.
“The lifts will operate normally from the next day: we do not want to further weaken companies already in difficulty”,
indicates Eric Becker.
And to add that
“this notice”
aims to respect the legal deadlines
to “allow seasonal workers to participate in the next day of mobilization against the pension reform, which should be decided for one day in February”
.
A delicate context as the holiday period, which begins in two weeks for Zone A (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Nouvelle-Aquitaine) is one of the best times of the year for the area.
In the strike notice document, Force Ouvrière does not limit its demands to the issue of pensions.
If the union wants to maintain the “
current retirement system and pensions
”, it also requests the
“return to the measures of the 2017 unemployment agreement
” and an “
extension of the duration of the contracts
”.
