The Ouagadougou authorities have demanded the departure of French troops from Burkina Faso within a month. This announcement is the new mark of a growing hostility towards France on the continent, fueled by Russian propaganda and nourished by the disappointments of the postcolonial relationship.
During the 2018 World Cup, the streets of Dakar were filled with cheering supporters every time Les Bleus scored a victory, until their crowning glory.
At the end of last year, it was very different.
