Al-Hasakah farmers have finished planting wheat and barley crops for the current agricultural season, and in various areas of agricultural stability, bringing the total area cultivated with the two crops to 707 thousand hectares.

The head of the Plant Production Department in the Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the area cultivated with irrigated wheat reached 120,900 hectares, out of the total planned area for cultivation of 290,632 hectares, with an implementation rate of 42 percent, while the area cultivated with rainfed wheat amounted to 296,000 hectares. , of the planned area of ​​424,124 hectares, with an implementation rate of 70 percent.

As for the area cultivated with irrigated barley, it amounted, according to Bilal, to 19,500 hectares, out of the total planned area, which amounted to 28,250 hectares, with an implementation rate of 70 percent.

Engineer Bilal pointed out that the reality of the two irrigated crops is good, and they are in the process of growing and leafy distribution, especially for areas planted early, while the two rainfed crops need rain during the coming period, in light of the lack of precipitation for more than a month.
