Today, the Damascus Friends Association organized a cultural symposium on the late Maestro Hussam El Din Primo at the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh.
The symposium touched on the relationship of the late Primo with culture and music, the various human and professional aspects of his personality, his most important artistic projects, in addition to the slogans he carried on his shoulders and the testimonies of those who accompanied him on the path and carried the banner of art, music and singing with him.
The Secretary of the Friends of Damascus Association, Ghassan Shaheen, started his talk about the personality of the late Primo, his human and professional values that he carried and represented, his musical interests, the instruments he loved and played on, and his uniqueness in singing, playing, making melodies and words presented by the Luna Choir for collective singing that he founded.
Shaheen stated in a statement to SANA that the aim of the symposium is to shed light on the artistic and cultural project of Maestro Primo, who worked on it for thirty years and called it “Luna”. And create joy in all circumstances.
Shaheen explained that the project was called “The Immortal” because work will be done to preserve it, preserve it, continue its development, and move forward with it to deliver the true message from it.
The Dean of the Higher Institute of Music, Maestro Adnan Fathallah, confirmed that the late’s artistic work was one of the most difficult choices, which is dealing with children in building singing choirs and a group choir, raising this child and training him to succeed and persevere in the path of excellence to be an experienced musician, pointing out that one of the most important educational effects that he has She was immortalized by the spirit of teamwork and the sensory fusion of choral voices to form creative and blended musical Arabs in chants, in addition to teaching them national belonging and strengthening it emotionally by singing patriotic songs.
As for his musical impact, Maestro Fathallah mentioned that it is a history of artistic achievements through the establishment of choirs of different age groups, starting with children and ending with the elderly, and the formation of special choirs of grandmothers under the name of the Joy Choir and the Atiq Gold Choir consisting of women in their forties and above, and training and qualifying them for a special group choral performance.
The singer, Linda Bitar, made an intervention during the symposium that Maestro Hossam is the teacher and motivator for them, as musicians and artists, to be the owners of creative projects.
