The Knesset plenum is expected to vote in the next few minutes (Monday) on the expanded Norwegian law, which expands the number of ministers and deputy ministers who can resign from their membership in the Knesset and to bring in other MKs from the list in their place; according to the new law, in factions where there are more than 18 Knesset members, up to a third of the faction can resign, contrary to the current situation In which there is a ceiling of 5 resignations in the Norwegian law at most.
The opposition planned to hold a filibuster on the law and drag the debate into the night, but due to a malfunction, most of them were not present at all in the plenary. For this reason, the chairman shortened the debate and prepared for a vote earlier than planned.
The source of the problem was the absence of one of the members of the opposition, MK Orit Perkash, who was supposed to speak for an hour and a half, but when she did not arrive, the speaker of the Knesset called out the names of the other speakers too quickly, and they did not have time to arrive.
