Eli is four years old and according to his mother Abbie, he wanted a dog of his own for a long time.
But adopting an animal and giving it a new home also means additional costs and a lot of responsibility.
After a difficult move for the little one, Abbie wanted to fulfill her son's wish.
She got a black and white Australian Shepherd puppy, hid him in the bathroom and surprised Eli.
She recorded the sweet scene on her cell phone and shared the video on her

The network is smitten by the loving and, above all, careful greeting of Eli's new family member.

Eli and his mother come home and Abbie guides her son to the bathroom.
He opens the door and can hardly believe his eyes: "Ohh, a little dog.
Is he cute?
Thank you Mom!” It's wonderful to see how carefully Eli approaches the puppy.
He is very unsure about the new situation, stands in the corner and hesitantly wags his tail.
Instead of pouncing on the dog and screaming loudly, Eli seems to understand his body language that now is the wrong moment.

So the four-year-old squats down, lets the puppy sniff the air and strokes it very carefully.

Four-year-old can name his dog
When asked what the puppy's name is, Abbie tells her son that he can choose his own name.
"I think I'll call him Ne-Yo," comes the prompt reply.
Eli's little brother, who has discovered the puppy in the meantime, approaches very carefully and calmly.
Both children instinctively behave correctly and as if they already had a good deal of knowledge about dog training.
Ne-Yo could hardly have had a better start in this family.

Australian Shepherds are energetic and enjoy participating in sports and games.
That is why they are also suitable for families with children.
However, small children should not be left alone with dogs.
