Merav Michaeli reacted to the bill of a senior Torah Jew to regulate separate bathing hours for men and women in nature reserves • "Another step in the halachic revolution that Netanyahu's crazy friends are promoting under his auspices"

The bill by senior Torah Judaism, MK Moshe Gafni, to regulate separate bathing hours for men and women in the springs and nature reserves of the Nature and Parks Authority, which was first revealed in Israel Hayom, is causing a stir.

The chairman of Labor, MK Marev Michaeli, tweeted this morning (Monday) after the publication in "Israel Hayom" that: "Mr. Gafni, as much as I am happy to dance at your separate private event, I will fight that you do not turn our entire country into your private event. No We will agree that you take us back, not on the bus, and not anywhere else. Another step in the halachic revolution that Netanyahu's crazy friends are promoting under his protection. He doesn't care, this is how it is when you have a private pool at home."

Mr. Gaffney, as much as I am happy to dance at your separate private event, I will fight that you do not turn our entire country into your private event.

We will not accept that you take us back, not on the bus, or anywhere else.

Hadas Danieli Yelin, CEO of the women's lobby, also responded and said "Gafni's bill should be a wake-up call for all of us.

These are not prophecies of wrath, these are plans that are coming true before our eyes.

Our rights as women are in danger.

Gender segregation has one goal: to eliminate women from the public sphere.

Segregation at the Nature Reserves and Gardens Authority means boys who cannot travel with their mothers and girls who cannot spend time with their fathers.

This is not Judaism, this is the men's way of taking us back.

We will continue to fight for our place.

We cannot be made to disappear from the public sphere."

Uri Kider, CEO of Free Israel, said that "If the extremists in the Netanyahu government think that the public will flock to their attempts to return Israel to the Middle Ages, they are wrong. We will not allow this predation and the transformation of the State of Israel into a Halacha state, and nature reserves will not be under the auspices of religious coercion. The Netanyahu government will not Rest until you don't divide the public against each other and continue to sow hatred within it, and the public will not allow the religious coercion they are trying to contain."

On the other hand, there are also those who support Gafni's proposal.

Shai Glick, CEO of Betselmo, said: "In the State of Israel there is a large religious and ultra-orthodox population as well as a Muslim population that is not a mixed bather.

This public also has the right to enjoy natural resources.

It is not about exclusion or religious coercion, God forbid, but about a solution adapted to each and every one according to his faith and lifestyle."
