Serious traffic accident with a trapped person: That was the alert.

When the volunteer fire brigades came to the scene of the accident on the A94 near Forstinning - the accident victim took selfies.

Forstinning – When district fire chief Hubert Bichler from Gelting (Pliening municipality) was called to another accident on the A94 in the night from Saturday to Sunday, he could not believe his eyes: the accident victim took selfies with his cell phone.

"I thought to myself: what kind of self-promoting world do we actually live in?" says Bichler.

And also what kind of image that must give to the many volunteer firefighters when the victim behaves like this.

"A shifted relationship to reality," says Bichler about the selfie behavior.

It was 4:12 a.m. when the Forstinning, Anzing and Pastetten fire brigades were alerted to the accident.

Initially, it was said that a seriously injured person was trapped in the car.

The car had left the A94 on a snow-covered road in the Forstinning area, rolled over and got stuck in the ditch on the passenger side.

When Bichler and the other emergency services arrived, the 37-year-old man was standing in the car, sticking his head out of the driver's window and taking selfies, reports the district fire chief.

Accident victim takes selfies with paramedics: "They reacted coolly"

Firefighters extricated the driver from the car through the windshield.

Fortunately, it turned out that he was only slightly injured.

On the way to the ambulance, he took a selfie with the paramedics.

"They reacted very coolly," says Bichler.

All in all, says the district fire chief, it was all a funny picture: rescue workers on duty, the victim takes selfies.

Nine accidents had already occurred on Friday evening on the A94 between Forstinning and Parsdorf.

A 21-year-old driver abused the emergency lane formed in the backlog, drove through it, swerved and crashed into three cars.
