"Regionality meets automation": The motto of the village shop boxes is well received in Bavaria.
People can now buy products from the region at three locations.
Pfarrkirchen – No more driving to the farm to buy regional products from the farmers: In the village shop boxes, customers can get everything compactly in one place, 24 hours a day.
And you can even check stock levels using the app.
The Dorfladenbox concept has so far been particularly successful in Austria (soon 17 locations), but there are also four locations in Germany, three of which are in Bavaria.

Dorfladenbox in Bavaria: Here people can shop regionally and sustainably
At the beginning of December, the third village shop box opened in Bavaria.
In Pfarrkirchen, in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn, it is on Alois-Gäßl-Straße.
The operators are Rainer and Silvia Brandl.
“You hear everywhere that we have to reduce our CO₂ emissions.
Everyone can make a big but simple contribution if we consume food and everyday items from the immediate vicinity that have a better CO₂ balance due to short transport routes,"
Brandl is quoted as saying in a statement.
In his village shop box there are 261 regional products from 39 different suppliers in the region.
The other two Dorfladenbox locations are located between Augsburg and Landsberg am Lech in Swabia.
The Rid family runs two boxes in Untermeitingen and Obermeitingen.
Products from more than 40 suppliers can be found here.
In Illertissen there is a very similar concept: In a Späti village shop, customers can buy regional products from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The founders of the Dorfladenboxen offer a regional shopping opportunity for sustainable food.
"In this way we shorten the transport routes and bring together the products of different local manufacturers," says the company's website.
"Our goal is to make food production more attractive again for small producers."
