Winter returned with heavy snowfall over the weekend.

Skiers and snowboarders didn't waste any time and made their way straight to the slopes where the ski lift operators have started their work.

District – The

Auerberg

piste was very busy from the first snowy day.

"We opened it immediately on Saturday afternoon," says Stefan Geisenhof from the ski department of TSV Bernbeuren, which operates the lift on the beginner-friendly slope.

As long as the snow conditions permit, the lift in Bernbeuren runs Monday to Friday from 2 p.m., Saturday from 1.30 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.

Winter sports enthusiasts can find out what the situation is like on site at any time via a live video camera on the ski department's website.

Skiing in Weilheim-Schongau: The lifts are very busy

For the first time this winter, the

Ilgen T-bar lift

near Steingaden was put back into operation.

The first snow in December wasn't enough to prepare the slopes, but now the hills are white enough.

As Georg Lutz from the lift system explains, a few skiers were already out on the 500-metre descent on Sunday.

"The operation was satisfactory for the snow conditions," says Lutz.

The Ilgen lift is open Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can find out more about the current situation on the slopes by calling 08862/342 or on the municipality's website.

Penzberg: Ski lift on the Bergehalde open thanks to snow

Another possibility to go skiing in Steingaden is the

Gagras hill in

the middle of the village.

With its small tow lift, it is the ideal practice slope for children and beginners.

It has also been in operation here since the weekend.

In

Penzberg

, everyone is also happy about the heavy snowfall, thanks to which the ski lift on the Berghalde could be put into operation.

The ski area on the recreation area offers an easy ski slope, which is ideal for skiing and snowboarding with children.

The drag lift has been running since Monday and is open daily from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. until further notice.

The city publishes current information on its website.

Floodlights enable night skiing on the Bromgergalm

The fresh snow has also ushered in the ski season

at the

Brombergalm in Böbing.

The small ski area with three runs and a total length of 1700 meters has been open since Sunday.

According to operator Christoph Erhard, there is already a lot going on on the slope, which is suitable for children and beginners.

In order for it to stay that way, it should snow again.

"The snow situation isn't that plentiful," says Erhard.

The lift at the Brombergalm operates from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

A separate floodlight system allows skiing here even in the dark: night skiing on the illuminated slope is possible on Thursdays from 5 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m.

All information about opening hours and prices is available on the website.

Preparations are underway in Schwabsoien - the lift is scheduled to open at the weekend

In

Hohenfurch

, every day on which the ski slope in the north is covered with snow is also savored.

The slope, which is mainly used by children, has been open since Sunday.

"Brisk business" immediately set in, as Markus Hefele from the local ski club explains.

Until further notice, the lift runs Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

At the weekend you can ski in Hohenfurch from 1pm to 4.30pm.

Interested parties can find out whether the lift is in operation at www.sc-hohenfurch.de.

Skiers in

Schwabsoien

still have to be patient .

If the snow stays there, they want to start with the small drag lift in the "Breite Tal" at the weekend, says Georg Bussewitz from the Schwabsoien Ski Club.

Preparations are still underway.

Interested parties can find out the current status on the association's website.
