The Russian newspaper Izvestia revealed that Russia was one of the countries most exposed to cyber-attacks targeting private companies and government institutions.
According to information received from the company "Storm Wall", which specializes in the field of cybersecurity, reported by the newspaper, the cyber attacks that targeted Russia in 2022 accounted for 8.4 percent of the total attacks against countries of the whole world.
The largest part, 28 percent of the attacks targeted the financial sector in Russia, followed by the telecommunications sector 18 percent, then the state sector 14 percent, and a large number of attacks targeted the entertainment and insurance sector by 7 percent and the media by 5 percent.
In addition, cyber attacks in 2022 targeted the education sector and the transportation and logistics sector in Russia.
Experts recorded for the first time such high rates regarding Russia, and pointed out that China and India have been subjected to a large number of attacks, but they are traditionally considered among the countries most vulnerable to cyber attacks.
