Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov considered that the statements claiming that Russia is undermining the interests of the European Union in Africa are unfounded and mere propaganda, pointing out that his country does not interfere in the affairs of African countries, but rather provides support only at their request.

Lavrov added, during a joint press conference today with the Eswatini Minister of Foreign Affairs (Tulli Dladla): “Western propaganda operates under the slogans (Russia aggressor) and (Russia undermines the interests of the European Union in Africa), but such phrases are baseless, and are being repeated.” Hundreds of thousands of times hoping to influence the minds of listeners, viewers and recipients.”

Lavrov expressed his country's support for the efforts made by the countries of the African continent, with the aim of combating extremist groups and terrorist organizations in the region, reaffirming Russia's support for the United Nations Charter, respect for the rights of all countries, no matter how small or large, and its support for the issue of expanding the representation of African countries in the United Nations.

Lavrov indicated that the West had been preparing for years to launch a hybrid war against Russia using Ukraine, while Russia adhered from the outset to the priority of a political settlement to resolve the crisis, but the West refused that, pointing out that his country accepted Kyiv's proposals during the negotiations last spring, with the aim of finding a diplomatic solution to the crisis. , but the West pushed Ukraine to back down from it.

Yesterday, during a conference with his South African counterpart Naledi Pandor in Pretoria, Lavrov called on the United States and Western countries to realize that the colonial approach and the imposition of trusteeship had ended, pointing out that the war between the West and Russia had become almost real.

On cooperation between Russia and the Kingdom of Eswatini, Lavrov stated that it was agreed to develop cooperation in the military, technical as well as political fields, noting that fruitful discussions with the Kingdom's officials touched on various fields, including sectors (commercial, economic and agricultural), and the issue of energy, especially that Eswatini is facing Difficulties regarding the issue of fertilizer supplies.

In this regard, Lavrov pointed to the bilateral agreement between the two countries to direct a joint request to the United Nations, in order for Eswatini to obtain Russian fertilizers for free, especially since Russia had previously confirmed its willingness to deliver 280,000 tons of Russian fertilizers to needy countries for free after lifting Western restrictions on its exports.

Lavrov said, "Despite the efforts made within 6 months, we were able to export 20 tons out of 280 tons of fertilizers, because the West is politicizing this file."

On the other hand, Lavrov pointed out that there are several initiatives in the (BRICS) group to establish its own currency for transactions between the members of the organization, and to stop relying on the US dollar, indicating that (BRICS) differs from a large number of other international organizations because it does not depend on the principle of force, and all Its members are equal, and it seeks partnership with all parties that are interested in cooperating with it.

Yesterday, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called on the member states of both BRICS and Mercosur to consider adopting a common currency to be used in exchanges between them, and to stop relying on the dollar.

It is noteworthy that Lavrov's visit to the Kingdom of Eswatini is considered historic within the framework of an African tour that he started yesterday from South Africa, where he held a number of meetings with officials in the Kingdom, during which they discussed cooperation in the political, commercial, economic, military and humanitarian fields.
