Likud senior officials responded today (Tuesday) for the first time to Torah Judaism chairman Moshe Gafni's bill regarding the regulation of separate bathing at the Nature and Parks Authority, saying: "The status quo in matters of religion and state will be strictly maintained, including at the Nature and Parks Authority."
Earlier today it was published in "Israel" today" that Gafni is promoting a bill to regulate separate bathing hours for men and women in springs in nature reserves.
In response to the publication, the Authority said that "the Nature Authority is responsible by virtue of its state role for the management and operation of nature reserves and national parks and within this framework works as much as possible to make these sites accessible to all populations while maintaining the values Nature, heritage and landscape.
The authority will study the bill when it is passed and will act accordingly.
These days, a plan is being built together with the Minister of Environmental Protection and the Ministry that will make the values of love for the land and nature accessible to all populations and this issue will also be examined accordingly."

Earlier this week, Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar announced that the "Israeli Sabbath" initiative would be canceled.
According to a statement issued by his office, he instructed to examine the plans of his predecessor in the position, including an Israeli Shabbat program that also takes place on Shabbat, thereby "discriminating against the entire Shabbat-observant public."
Following criticism of the move, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu ordered Zohar to withdraw from the move, and he, on the other hand, claimed that they had "created a representation" that he was interested in canceling.
