The parish council of Kirchdorf recently had to deal with very different topics.

Topics for which there was praise and criticism.

Kirchdorf

– An increase in the fees for the day care centers, a missing budget and a Helfenbrunner tree that has now been knocked down for the second time: At the most recent municipal council meeting in Kirchdorf, the topics really could not have been more different.

There was also praise from Mayor Uwe Gerlsbeck (CSU) in the new year - namely for his municipal councils, who made the town hall square safer for the school children.

Daycare fees increase by almost five percent

At a meeting in 2015, the Kirchdorf municipal council once decided to adjust the childcare fees based on the respective increase in the base value – and this new base value was finally available.

In plain language, this means that the fees for the day-care centers in Kirchdorf will increase by 4.71 percent.

Expressed in numbers: While the day-care center previously cost 220.37 euros in the maximum booking, parents will soon have to shell out 230.74 euros.

At the crèche, the costs for the maximum booking increase from 454.20 to 475.59 euros.

Here, however, Martin Heyne (Greens) intervened - with an application to waive the fee increase for children in crèches.

"The increase could be problematic for some parents, it's already in the 500 euro range," says Heyne.

However, Gerslbeck was not very enthusiastic about this, although he might want to discuss the situation again at the budget deliberations.

His suggestion in this regard: "We'll vote now and if the majority finds it, so be it." The result of the vote: Nine councilors voted for an increase in daycare and daycare fees, five councilors would have liked to have children in daycare excluded.

“We live in a budget-free era”

Because the Kirchdorf budget had not yet been approved, Heyne then had a problem with the purchase of three group kitchens for the kindergarten.

Cost: around 25,000 euros.

"We live in a budget-free time, actually we shouldn't decide that now," warned Heyne.

Gerlsbeck was able to calm down: "The costs are still included in the old budget." However, he would like to have the Green Party's objection checked by the legal supervisory authority.

Gerlsbeck, on the other hand, gave great praise to those councilors who had campaigned for more safety for the students on the way to school - namely Regina Elzenbeck (CSU/FW), Albert Steinberger (CSU/FW) and Andreas Schmitz (FWG).

Due to a one-way street and bollards on the town hall square, the difference to before, according to Gerlsbeck, is huge - especially in terms of the flood of parents' taxis.

"Now the parents are deterred, the pressure on the children worked," explained Schmitz.

According to Schmitz, the stamp system that was introduced is also a "success story" - every child who walks or takes the bus now gets a stamp at school, parents taxi children look in the tube in this regard.

What Schmitz was also passionate about:

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Speaking of driving: In Helfenbrunn, a tree on a traffic island was knocked over for the second time within a relatively short period of time, which is one thing above all for all municipal councils - namely incomprehensible.

Elisabeth Hörand (CSU/FW) even drove down the route several times and at different speeds, but she was then unable to explain how the accident happened.

"Now it's been mowed twice, what should we do?" asked Gerlsbeck.

Neither a sign caused enthusiasm nor was Anton Pittner's (CSU/FW) tongue-in-cheek suggestion to place a boulder there.

So what to do instead?

"Now we'll just plant another one and if it gets knocked over, then we'll think of something," Hörand suggested in conclusion.
