Rain of money is enough for the Heide-Volm

The trade tax revenue, especially from medical technology and biotechnology, makes it possible: 82.8 million euros flowed in last year, more than ever before.

Planegg

- Kämmerin Katharina Gaspers presented the main, finance and culture committee of the Planegger municipal council on Monday the draft for a record budget with a total volume of 138.3 million euros.

The 100 million euro limit was exceeded for the first time.

The members took note of the figures with enthusiasm and made a unanimous recommendation for the municipal council.

He has the last word in mid-February.

The administrative budget grows by 25.9 percent to 69.1 million euros.

Gaspers named the formation of reserves for the district levy as the main reason.

The volume of the asset budget is almost identical at 69.2 million euros, "a coincidence", as Gaspers emphasized.

Here the increase of 131.7 percent is even clearer: in 2022 it was almost 30 million euros.

Just one sentence about the purchase of land

Gaspers dealt with the largest budget item in one sentence: "We have set aside 43.2 million euros in the property budget for the purchase of land." where for decades the Heide family ran an inn with a beer garden and ballroom.

Last year's budget included 12 million, which Mayor Hermann Nafziger described as a "great down payment" at the time.

Nafziger does not reveal how high the price for the area that rounds off the reorganization of the station area is, but he expects a decision to be made in the near future.

"As soon as I get the bid, I'll go to the municipal council with it," he said in a Merkur interview.

Planegg is also negotiating with the owners of the 2,248 square meter property of the Pension Elisabeth on the corner of Hofmarkstrasse and Germeringer Strasse, which the community needs for the development of the planned new district to the east of the railway line.

Here, too, Nafziger was recently confident.

The 43.2 million euros should be intended for both property purchases.

Apparently they are enough, because no borrowing is planned up to and including 2026.

However, the reserves are expected to melt to 1 million euros.

2 million euros should be intended for both property purchases.

Councilors optimistic

That could change if business tax receipts continue to beat expectations.

As early as 2021, medical technology and biotechnology brought the municipality a rain of money.

Instead of the estimated 19.5 million euros, there were 48 million euros in trade tax.

In 2022, this was again significantly exceeded: 25 million euros had been expected, and it finally became 82.8 million.

A special effect has a large share, i.e. the fact that a company pays more than usual, which should amount to around 30 million euros.

Nafziger gives neither names nor numbers, but says that "the focus on biotechnology and medical technology has performed strongly in the past two or three years".

And further: "I cannot assume that I will have such effects every year."

Planegg remains conservative, for 2023 the municipality estimates trade tax of 28 million euros.

The councilors were optimistic.

"I think we all expect that if we don't get 80, we'll get 35, 40 or even 50 million," said Florian Grosselfinger (CSU) and called the budget "very, very nice and reasonable".

Angelika Lawo (gG21) said: “We have the right branches in the community.

The good mix pays off.” Felix Kempf (SPD) explained: “There are good investments in there.” And as if the land purchases had already been made, Peter von Schall-Riaucour (PP&M) said: “We now have so much real estate assets in the back that it gives us security.”
