The Directorate of Technical Services in Raqqa has resumed the implementation of the Shweihan Road, which connects the liberated countryside with the rest of the governorates, as part of the investment plan for the current year.
The Director of Services in Raqqa, Eng. Khalaf Al-Sarhan, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the first phase of the project to complete the implementation of the road started with extending a layer of quarries’ remains for the remaining part, with a length of 13.5 km, a width of 8 m, and a thickness of 20 cm, through the mechanisms of the Technical Services Directorate, provided that the rest of the works for the road are completed. It is the implementation of a limestone layer and a 28.5 km long asphalt layer at the beginning of the fourth month when the asphalt works begin.
The governor of Raqqa, Abd al-Razzaq Khalifa, during his review of the road implementation works, stressed in a statement to reporters the need to expedite the implementation of the works according to the required specifications, and to intensify the necessary mechanisms for work.
