Seven people were killed and one seriously injured in two shootings in Half Moon Bay, Northern California.
And the American “ABC7” and “NBC” channels, citing security sources, said that seven people were killed in the shooting.
There was no official confirmation of the number of casualties, but the San Mateo County Sheriff said he was dealing with the incident.
"The Sheriff's Office is responding to a multiple-casualty shooting incident in the area of Highway 92 and the outskirts of Half Moon Bay," he wrote on Twitter.
"There is a suspected shooter in custody and there is currently no ongoing threat to the population," he added.
"I was in the hospital visiting the injured in the mass shooting when I was informed of another shooting," said California Governor Gavin Newsom, who was in Monterey Park. "This time in Half Moon Bay, tragedy after tragedy."
The shootings took place on farms close to each other in south San Francisco.
The California shooting follows other alarming shootings across the US, with 11 people killed at a dance studio in Monterey Park, California this week, and 12 people shot and wounded inside a bar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
