After the nomination of "Argentina, 1985" for the Oscar for Best International Film, actor
Ricardo Darín celebrated the Academy's decision and stressed the importance of the film
, 40 years after the recovery of democracy.
"It is fundamental for the youngest. The boys who were born in a democracy do not necessarily have to perceive the importance of what its construction means, they take it naturally, it is the natural order of things.
The film suggests remembering and vindicating the struggle of many people
and the lives that were lost," reflected the actor.
In dialogue with Radio con Vos, Darín ruled out that politics was the reason why the Academy opted for the film and
rescued the solidity of the script, direction and performances.
He also
praised Santiago Mitre, its director: "I am as happy for the film as for him, he
is a young and brilliant director, he deserves what happens. He works hard."
In addition, he evaluated the other nominees and maintained that his favorite is "Closer", from Belgium, although he recognized that
the great candidate is "No news on the front",
from Germany.
However, she maintained that she "lacks some forcefulness".
"I just saw that she is considered for Best Picture. She is a big favorite. What happens is that it is a little more of the same," she opined.
