The violent invasion of the National Police at the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) in Lima last Saturday, far from intimidating, has strengthened those who demand the removal of the Peruvian president, Dina Boluarte.

It happened above all with the university groups, no longer from the capital, but from the regions.

Groups of students from the San Antonio de Abad National University of Cusco left this Monday morning for the city.

This Tuesday, first thing in the morning, delegations from the National University of the Center of Huancayo, in the department of Junín, in the center of the country, will also do so.

Meanwhile, in Arequipa, students from the National University of San Agustín paraded through the Plaza de Armas and the main avenues of the white city calling for an end to the conflict that has already had fifty deaths,

For the first hours of the afternoon of this Tuesday, the organizers of the mobilizations have called for a great march under the slogan "University students from all over Peru, united" in the Plaza Dos de Mayo, in the center of Lima.

But they won't be the only ones to join.

The General Confederation of Workers of Peru (CGTP) has also called on all its bases for what is expected to become the most robust protest in recent days.

At the same time, the capital expects a bulk of protesters from the regions of Cajamarca, Apurímac, Lambayeque and Puno, one of the departments hardest hit by the repression by the security forces.

The social unrest in the regions, which began on December 7 after Pedro Castillo's failed self-coup, has not ceased.

Around 80 people attacked three agro-export companies in Ica, on the south coast.

They burned control booths and paralyzed work activities.

There are 39 public, private and police entities that have been damaged between December and January.

According to the Ombudsman's Office, yesterday there were mobilizations, stoppages and road blockades in 27 provinces.

That is, almost 14% of provinces nationwide.

In Lima, there were moments of tension on Avenida Grau, where there was a great repression by the police forces.

It has been known through the newspaper

La República

that the National Police has made an immediate request for 665,000 anti-riot items, including grenades and tear gas cartridges, roar and flash bombs, and rubber pellets.

This situation, which has placed Peru under the gaze of the world, has aroused the concern of the Organization of American States (OAS), whose Permanent Commission will meet with President Dina Boluarte next Wednesday.

Everything indicates that the woman who replaced Pedro Castillo in power will participate in the meeting by video call.

Regarding the almost 200 detainees on the San Marcos university campus who were released on Sunday and who have denounced a series of mistreatments, the Minister of the Interior, Vicente Romero, has denied that the operation that included more than 300 police officers, tanks and a helicopter has been deployed by order of the Government.

What's more, he said that he was not even aware of this operation, in a fact that has aroused the indignation of a large sector of the population.

“There was no political decision because that was a decision clearly made by the Police that it has had.

I found out when I was watching the intervention on television.

They have done it for flagrante delicto," the minister excused himself.

Meanwhile, the protesters are determined to redouble the pulse of the Government.
