At least one person has been killed and four more injured in an attack that occurred in several churches in Algeciras (Cádiz) after 8:00 p.m. this Wednesday.
According to sources from the Ministry of the Interior, a person has staged an attack with a knife, killing one person and injuring others.
The deceased is the sacristan of the church of La Palma, in the heart of the city.
The attacker has been arrested and is in the custody of the National Police.
The facts are being investigated and analyzed, without it being possible for the moment to determine the nature of the attack, according to Interior sources, although the National Court Prosecutor's Office assumes it as an alleged terrorist attack, according to public ministry sources.
The Muslim Community has sent a statement of rejection.
The 112 Andalusia Emergency service has received numerous notices from individuals about the event, but the toilets have not been able to do anything to save the life of the victim and it has been the Local Police that has confirmed the death.
The president of the Junta de Andalucia, Juan Manuel Moreno, has lamented the events via Twitter: “Terrible and heartbreaking.
A sacristan has been murdered and at least one other priest has been injured in an attack that took place in Algeciras.
Prudence, the facts are being investigated."

I strongly condemn the crime.
