The freeway was then closed.
The direction of travel to Würzburg has now been released again, previously the blocking of the direction of travel to Regensburg had been lifted.

Höchstadt – On Wednesday morning, January 25, an accident occurred between a coach and a traffic safety trailer on the A3 motorway.
This was announced by the police in Central Franconia.
A3 near Höchstadt: Bus with students involved in an accident - several injured
The Belgian coach occupied by students was traveling on the A3 in the direction of Würzburg.
At around 2.30 a.m., the vehicle collided with a parked traffic safety trailer in the construction site area between the Höchstadt Nord and Schlüsselfeld junctions for reasons that are still unclear.
The driver of the bus suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to a police press release.
He was taken to hospital after being treated by ambulance.
There were around 60 children on the school bus returning from a school field trip.
The children were mostly unharmed.
Five of them were briefly treated at the scene by the emergency services because of minor injuries.
"The bus passengers will now be housed in a nearby municipal sports hall until further notice," it said.

For the rescue services, the accident meant a large-scale operation: in addition to patrols from the Erlangen traffic police, there are more than 50 volunteer fire brigades in Höchstadt, Mühlhausen and Wachenroth and 25 rescue service workers at the scene.
The A3 is currently completely closed to traffic in both directions until the end of the rescue measures (as of 7:50 a.m.).
