Facundo Manes asked to add Schiaretti and Urtubey to Together for Change: "It would be great if they came"

However, he said that the figure of Javier Milei should not be taken into account for the opposition coalition.

Deputy Facundo Manes spoke this Wednesday about the leading role that the Radical Civic Union should take in this year's presidential elections and

asked to expand Together for Change

with two non-Kirchnerist Peronist figures.

The reference was to the governor of Córdoba, Juan Schiaretti, and the former president of Salta Juan Manuel Urtubey, who

this summer launched a political space to compete electorally

, with the aim of going "outside the crack."

"All the people who want to join the opposition coalition are welcome, if they are honest and want a modern country. We have to expand the coalition,

it would be great for them to come

, we have to build a great opposition coalition to Kirchnerism," he said in a dialogue with radio Network.

During the presentation of the brand new political space,

Schiaretti and Urtubey expressed their desire to be pre-candidates

, but not to be in an internal one with the ruling party.

"Neither with the K nor with the Frente de Todos," they assured.

Manes gave as an example the incorporation of Miguel Ángel Pichetto, who for years was head of the Peronist Senate bench, as Mauricio Macri's running mate for the 2019 elections and who today continues to be part of the opposition coalition with his space Republican Meeting Federal.

Juan Schiaretti and Juan Manuel Urtubey launched an "anti-crack" space and will run for the presidential election.

"That has to be done with other sectors, Schiaretti has management, he has a lot of prestige, he would be welcome in the coalition,

but it must be expanded as Macri did with Pichetto

. We have to see if he wants to," he said regarding the Cordovan president.

However, the radical leader put the figure of Javier Milei as a limit, with whom some sectors of JxC seek to have a rapprochement.

"The limit is the people who do not want the system, who do not want to progress, who do not want coexistence,

the limit is the lack of good sense,"

he replied when asked about the figure of the libertarian deputy.

In addition, he maintained that it is necessary to propose a programmatic agreement based on a common ideology and warned: "We cannot put everyone in the position to win an election."

Criticism of "hawks" and "moderates"

Manes also pointed out that the contribution of the UCR in the 2021 elections was essential to consolidate the victory of the opposition coalition over the ruling party.

Along these lines, he remarked that radicalism does not have to go after the PRO and

questioned both the "hawks" of JxC and the "moderate" sectors.

"There are hawks in the opposition coalition who think that it is necessary to go with a tank passing over all those who do not think the same, I believe that Argentina cannot be transformed like this," he said.

And he added: "The moderates have empty slogans, they use a lot of official publicity but they do not represent the change, but rather the system that must be changed."

Along these lines, Manes maintained that radicalism has to modernize, question the youth, expand and not be "second to the PRO."

"When radicalism expanded and I speak to non-radicals, it was key for Argentina because it transformed the country. We cannot always follow PRO," he said.

Finally, when asked about a possible candidacy, he replied that he is working to provide an "alternative" to the entire opposition coalition.
