A few minutes after the hearing began in which the complaint and the prosecution present their allegations in the trial for the crime of Fernando Báez Sosa, there was
the first meeting
with the lawyer of the eight rugby players accused of the murder.
It was when the prosecutor Gustavo García was showing the sequence of videos that recorded what happened on the night of January 18, 2020 in Villa Gesell, from the exit of the defendants from the Le Brique nightclub to the fatal beating.
These are films that had been exposed during the previous hearings, with the difference that this time
they were shown synchronized on the screen

that is, several videos at the same time recording the same moment from different places.
Minutes after 10, with the day just started, the lawyer Hugo Tomei interrupted the prosecutor's presentation and launched an accusation:
"This is a setup
. "
The defender of the eight defendants questioned: "I am seeing a video edition that
is more like evidence than an exposition of the allegation where we have to talk about the
evidence
. For me
, this edition of video montage that already were passed. There is a technical aspect that is more probative than the allegation itself."
This first interruption of the exhibitions led the prosecutor to explain that he was not showing evidence that had not been previously exhibited, but that it was simply edited to show more clearly the time and places occupied by the defendants.
"The only difference is that they
are synchronized
(the videos), it's a way of talking about the test," he added.
After Tomei's intervention, the president of the Court,
María Claudia Castro
, took the floor and stated that the prosecution could continue with the exhibition of the images.
"The graphic film support, of the allegations, is a methodology approved by the Court, we have even discussed it before the trial. On the other hand, what you say is a montage, we are watching videos that we have all seen during the debate" , I consider.
Tomei asked that his complaint be recorded.
This Wednesday the allegations of the prosecution and the complaint are exposed, in which a harsh request for penalties for the defendants is expected.
Tomorrow, meanwhile, the arguments and proposals of the defense will be heard.
