The body of a woman was found in the rubble of a fire that ravaged a Roma camp in Fresnes (Val-de-Marne) overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday,

Around midnight, the Paris firefighters and the police intervened to control a fire that had broken out in a Roma camp located in the Allée des Platanes, in Fresnes.
In less than thirty minutes, nearly 150 people were evacuated by the emergency services to a nearby rugby pitch, with "
many children
" among them.
The fire was brought under control around 1 a.m.
Half of the camp would have gone up in smoke, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The report did not report any casualties at this stage of the intervention.
The suspect with “a long kitchen knife”
Two hours later and while inspecting the scene, firefighters found the charred body of a woman in the rubble of the fire.
Not far from this body was the woman's husband, armed with a long kitchen knife.
Arrested, the 33-year-old man was taken into custody.
On the spot, witnesses told the police that the suspect was known for acts of "
regular violence
" against his 39-year-old wife.
The Créteil public prosecutor's office indicated to
Le Figaro
that an investigation had been opened for "
murder by spouse, voluntary destruction by fire and modification of the inventory of the scene of a crime or an offense to obstruct the manifestation of the truth
”.
The sub-directorate of the Judicial Police of Val-de-Marne was seized of this case.
