The headquarters of the terrorist organization that operated from the Gaza Strip managed to take advantage of Palestinians without their knowledge to deliver ammunition and weapons to the terrorists • A senior security official: "The actions will lead to a reduction in the granting of entry permits to traders from Gaza to Israel"

In recent weeks, the Shin Bet, the IDF and the police have been conducting an intelligence effort that led to the exposure of Hamas operatives from Gaza who exploited Palestinian youths in the Yash, in a significant number of cases without their knowledge, as aides in carrying out terrorist attacks.

A senior security official: "The actions of Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip will reduce the number of entry permits for merchants and workers from Gaza to Israel.

The security establishment will deny the entry permits of approximately 230 Gazan laborers who work in Israel - relatives of those involved in directing terrorism."

Paid recruitment

The activities of Hamas are managed by the operatives of the "Hegada Headquarters" - a body of Hamas in Gaza, which is managed by the deportees of the "Shelit Deal" who lived in Judea and Samaria.

The method worked like this: the activists in the Gaza Strip hid their true identity and pretended to be different business companies and entities.

In this way, they recruit young Palestinians in the Yash for paid business "work", and send them on a variety of tasks such as transferring funds to purchase weapons for an attack and delivering packaged packages, which contain weapons or ammunition.

The terrorist operatives appealed to the Palestinians on Facebook.

The means of warfare and the funds are intended to eventually reach Hamas operatives in the Gaza Strip who were recruited by the headquarters in the Gaza Strip to carry out attacks. Following this, serious indictments were filed against them in the military court.

The story of Salam Zeid

The first stage:

During the month of July of this year, Salam Zeid (27) from the Jalzon refugee camp received an application from an unknown Facebook profile named "Khaled Taleb".

The profile offered him to work for a Turkish delivery company that operates in front of IOSH for a fee.

Initially, Salam was asked to transfer sums of money in the amount of thousands of dollars between different areas of the Jewish state such as Bethlehem, Ramallah and Hebron, without being aware that these were funds used by Hamas. Against this background, Shin Bet investigations revealed that some of the money reached the recruits through currency dealers digital ones that were also floated by Hamas members.

The second stage:

when the missions became more and more suspicious, "Khaled Taleb" presented himself as someone who works for the people of Muhammad Dahlan (a Fatah Ghola man living in the Gulf), and sent Salam to purchase weapons, including three M-16 rifles, an M4 rifle, Two guns and ammo.

In order to purchase the weapons, Salam was helped by his cousin Ahmed Zeid (27 years old, he also lives in Jalzon).

The latter was also unaware that he was being exploited by Hamas members.

In one of the purchases, Salam was asked to transfer the two guns he purchased to an official in the village of Hawara.

Salam drove to the meeting point and handed the guns over to the brothers Muhammad and Mahmoud Ghazi (who live in the village of Jama'in near Qalqilya).

After a few weeks, on September 9, 2022, the Ghazi brothers used their guns to carry out a drive-by shooting attack at Israeli vehicles traveling on Route 60 near the village of Hawara.

The story of Muhammad Yazen Jaber

The first step:

Muhammad Yazen Jaber, 21 years old, a resident of A-Ram in East Jerusalem, was exposed to an ad on Facebook stating that workers are needed for a restaurant.

Further to his response to the ad, he was contacted via chat by a man who called himself "Abu Alaa", and stated that he needed a courier to deliver boxes of perfumes throughout the Iosh for a fee.

Digital currencies were used by Hamas.

The second

stage

during August 22, under the guidance of "Abu Alaa", Muhammad began purchasing and transferring weapons and in this context he transferred a gun and ammunition to Bilal Hamail, a Hamas operative from the village of Beita, as well as an M-4 rifle to Fars Ma'ala, also from the village of Beita.

The two were also arrested and questioned.

The third

step

purchasing weapons for the infrastructure required a lot of cash.

In order to obtain it, the deportees roamed among the residents of IOSH who are involved in the trade in digital currencies. The Hamas deportees from Gaza approached buyers of digital currencies with fake identities, sold them virtual currencies and the cash for the purchase, collected through couriers from IOSH, who as mentioned also roamed, and transferred the money to the next station in the chain.

As mentioned, the terrorist infrastructure was operated by Hamas deportees in Gaza, led by Farah Hamed, 46 years old from Silonad, who was deported to Gaza as part of a prisoner release deal. In summary, dozens of residents who were in contact with Hamas operatives in Gaza were arrested and interrogated in the Yash.
