According to the latest figures published by the prefecture of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the number of job seekers (category A) fell by 5% in the last quarter of 2022 and by 11.9% over the whole year in the metropolis of Lyon.
Results superior to those of metropolitan France where unemployment fell by 3.8% in the last quarter and by 9.4% over one year.
However, while category A applicants are also down over the year in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (-10.6%), the number of category B unemployed, i.e. those with reduced activity less than or equal to 78 hours per month, increases by 10.2% in 2023. All categories combined, job seekers still fell by 4.8% last year.
