Chancellor Olaf Scholz defended his approach to the planned Leopard deliveries to Ukraine at a question time in the Bundestag.
"It was right and it's right that we didn't let ourselves drift," said Scholz.
Coordination with international allies was important: "Close cooperation and coordination is the principle."
Scholz responded to criticism from the Union that the government had acted too hesitantly: "If we followed your advice, that would be a danger to Germany's security." It would have been a bad mistake to go ahead alone, said Scholz.
