At 11:33 p.m. on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year (25th), the authorities received a report that a passenger at the Fanling Station of the East Rail Line fell off the track from the platform towards Sheung Shui and was trapped under the train.

Fire and ambulance reports are on the scene.

It is reported that at about 0:05 am on the 26th, the firefighters rescued the injured and handed them over to ambulancemen for first aid. Initially, the victim was seriously injured and had to be rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin by ambulance.

The MTR replied that due to people entering the track area of Fanling Station, the train service between Tai Wo and Sheung Shui Station on the East Rail Line is currently suspended; the train between Admiralty and Tai Wo Station will maintain every 8 minutes.

MTR is currently arranging shuttle buses from Tai Po Market to Sheung Shui Station to pick up affected passengers.

Based on past experience, the MTR Corporation expects to take about 45 to 60 minutes to deal with such incidents.

The MTR continued to point out that the free shuttle bus will arrive later.

As it takes time to deploy vehicles and depends on the road conditions at the time, MTR will endeavor to provide feeder bus services at affected stations about 45 minutes after the train service is partially interrupted.

MTR urges you to consider using other means of transportation.
