The escalation of violence in the occupied West Bank is at the heart of the concerns of the Israel Defense Forces.
The army there is constantly harassed and carries out “counter-terrorism” operations almost daily.
During the night from Monday to Sunday, fourteen Palestinians were arrested in the West Bank, the Israeli army announced Monday morning.
Sunday, in the Old City of Jerusalem, a 13-year-old boy was arrested in possession of a knife: the police suspect him of having wanted to launch a terrorist attack.
Since the beginning of the year, seventeen Palestinians have been killed in clashes with Israeli forces.
This assessment is in line with that of 2022, when the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank, with the exception of East Jerusalem, amounts to 144. For their part, the Israelis deplore 31 victims of terrorism.
2022 is therefore considered the deadliest year in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
