The bandeja paisa, an iconic dish of Colombian culture, would be about to change due to the high price of eggs in the United States.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics of that country, the retail price of eggs increased more than that of any other item in the supermarket: 11.1% from November to December and 59.9% annually.
The food index increased 0.6% from October to December in 2022 in the Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach areas.
This reflects a 3.4% increase in the eating away from home index.
