The Philippine military announced today that a military plane belonging to it crashed during a training flight, killing two people on board.
Xinhua news agency quoted an army spokesman as saying that the SF-260 aircraft took off from a military base in Sangili district this morning and crashed after about half an hour in Bataan province, west of the capital, Manila, killing two pilots on board.
It is not yet known the cause of the accident, which came hours after the announcement of the loss of a private plane in Isabella province yesterday, north of Manila, carrying five people on board, as searches for it continue so far.
