Is it more and more difficult to master the conditional?
Just take a look on social networks or listen to TV shows to realize that it is frequently subject to confusion.
One of the causes is its proximity to other tenses such as the future or the imperfect.
This phenomenon was noted by the jury of the Aix-Marseille Academy, quoted in our columns in December on the shortcomings of future school teachers (see editions of December 15).
The latter notes indeed
"a recurring and worrying error for future teachers (who) is the confusion between the imperfect and the present conditional"
.
And to quote in his report the verbs
“sung”
and
“stuttered”
analyzed by the candidates as being conjugated at the same time.
