Yesterday (24th), the Observatory issued a red fire danger warning. At around 7:00 last night, a number of citizens reported that a hill fire broke out in the Lam Tsuen Country Park near Ji Kung Ridge. The line of fire initially reached 80 meters.
The top of the mountain suddenly turned into a blaze, and a lot of smoke came out. Fortunately, the area of the fire was far away from the residential areas. No one was injured and no evacuation was required.
The yellow fire danger warning is now in effect. The Jigongling mountain fire has not been extinguished at 11:45 am on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year (25th) today. There are two fires at the scene, 10 meters by 10 meters and 2 meters respectively. By 2 meters, the firefighters are still working hard to fight the fire.

The Fire Services Department issued a special notice at around 11:00 p.m. yesterday, stating that several hill fires broke out tonight in Heung Yuen Wai and Pat Heung in the North District of the New Territories.
The Fire Services Department is now conducting fire fighting operations and reminds the public to close doors and windows and remain calm if they are affected by the smoke and odor drifting with the wind.
