Olivier Faure is now addressing activists.
After a week of internal tensions and while the situation is still not appeased, the first secretary of the Socialist Party wrote a letter that
Le Figaro
was able to consult, for the benefit of his troops.
The elected official recognizes “
difficult moments
” and claims to have heard “
the fears, the doubts, the expectations
” expressed during his election, still contested by the opposing camp.
"
I have to take them into account
", he writes, in order to "
do better together to win the left and the PS tomorrow
".
He who rejoiced “
clear and net results
” in the columns of the
JDD
at the beginning of the week is now content to evoke “
a clear but narrow victory
”.
“
It is my responsibility as first secretary re-elected to seek to unite the Socialist Party and to associate all its forces and all its talents with its animation.

To do this, the deputy of Seine-et-Marne says he wanted to "
put more collegiality at the heart of the party's leadership
" by offering Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol and Hélène Geoffroy the positions of first deputy secretaries.
The offer, declined, is however described by Olivier Faure as being "
unparalleled in the history of our party
".
But the main stakeholders are demanding more, and want to establish a board.
Faure rules out a new vote
In this letter, however, the party leader lays down his red lines by sweeping away this scenario.
"
I will not accept to install impotence at our head with a quarteron of four first secretaries
", he assures.
By recalling: “
I am the first secretary you have chosen.
He also says he refuses "
anything that will weaken our party or maintain confusion
".
According to him, "
the irregularities were all examined and taken into account in the final result
", and "
to hear about 'prison' on this subject is unbearable as well as unacceptable
" - Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol having designated the methods of the party as being liable to imprisonment.
"
The time is neither for a new vote, nor for endless confabulations
, ”slices Olivier Faure.

On the eve of the expected congress in Marseille, the boss of the socialists calls for a "
coherent and unitary
" party, rather than "
collection of baronies

This weekend's meeting must give "
a direction
" and "
a clear orientation
".
Once again, the elected official wants to listen to the activists: “
I share your anger at this crisis which puts us in danger as we climb back up the slope.
I hear your deep disgust when the party is presented as a world of fraud and irregularities.
