About 50 people demonstrated today (Thursday) in Haifa against the activities of the IDF in Jenin. Among the demonstrators was MK Ofer Kasif who was holding a PLO flag. from which to take down the flag. MK Kasif: "I do not identify with a terrorist organization, I am allowed to hold the flag."
One of the protestors read to the SNA Azard the language of the law that the police are allowed to order the flags to be taken down only "in the event that there is a real suspicion that waving the flag constitutes an offense of identification with a terrorist organization".

"I protest the oppression of the Palestinian people," Kasif tried to explain his actions to the station commander.
"We are all here protesting as part of what is supposed to be the 'freedom of demonstration' against the crimes that Israel commits against the Palestinian people. This nation is not a terrorist organization, it is a people. This is a people's flag. That is why you have no authority to touch the flag."
In the continuation of the debate, one of the demonstrators called the station commander "You are a terrorist organization" and threatened him that he would be arrested.
When the protester did not stop chanting slogans against the police, the police decided to arrest him.
