Aesthetic notes of Sufism and mysticism were present at the “Manifestations” festival, which was organized by the (Bayt al-Qasid) Cultural Association in partnership with the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo, and the (Al-Yamamah) Literary Forum.

The festival, which was hosted by the National Book House in Aleppo, and on its first day, 6 participants from the members of the Al-Yamamah Literary Forum, included the screening of a documentary film about the masters of Sufi literature, entitled “Manifestations”, and the presentation of emotional and Sufi poems and lyrical stanzas.

At the beginning of the festival, Dr. Mayada Makansi gave a brief overview of the nature of Sufi literature, its spiritual and mystical notes, its aesthetic and human features, and its creative problems.

The poet Hashim Mayser recited two poems: the first is entitled “One for Two Consciences” and the second is “An Exercise in Oblivion,” indicating that they revolve around the orbit of cognition and the relationship of the self to the ego.

Poet Fatima Badenjki recited a poem entitled “The Loudness of Poetry,” pointing out that she sought for the poem to be of a mystical, spiritual nature, which carried feelings and feelings within it.

The poet Omar Kuntar recited two poems that did not address them, the first sentimental, and the second Sufi, in which he narrated the lofty feelings of love, while the poet Yahya Sharifa recited a poem in which he dealt with the feelings of sadness and sorrow that the soul experiences from the comfort of love and passion.

The poet Nizar Kharboutli also presented the poem “The Desire of Passion,” in which he dealt with the pain of separation, the groaning of love, and the longing for connection.

The first day of the festival was concluded by the guest of honor, writer Muhammad Bashir Dahdouh, director of the Aleppo Cultural Café, by reciting an emotional poem entitled “The Cave of Names.”

Amjad Berri, head of the Beit al-Qasid Cultural Association, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the association has taken upon itself, since its establishment, to support young talents in Aleppo, pointing out that what distinguishes the festival today is that it simulates Sufi literature during an era that prevailed in the city of Aleppo.

Ahmed Ziyad Ghanaymi, director of Al-Yamamah Literary House, stated that the forum is concerned with supporting young talents, and includes 40 members.

The festival will continue to present its activities tomorrow at the National Book House Theater at 4:00 pm.
