With unified sizes and ideas that varied between symbolism and realism, dominated by a human character, a number of young artists opened this evening their oil exhibition at Julia Art Gallery in Damascus.

The exhibition included twenty-four paintings by six young artists, recent graduates from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus.

The artist, Ali Majar, explained in a statement to SANA that despite the different ideas of their paintings and their production methods, standardizing the dimensions of the works by fifty square centimeters for each work was a door to finding a common denominator for this artistic production.

The artist Yumna Al-Salakh summed up her participation in the exhibition, which was titled “Spectrum”, with paintings that reflected the concept of nature in its details, such as soil and plants with green and brown colors.

And about her works, which she participated in under the title “After Peace,” the artist Sherine Hussein referred to her content of emptiness from which the idea began, as she tried through these works to show the tranquility that comes after turmoil, which she summarized with drawings that included frightened people in an empty nature.

The artist, Judy Machnouk, pointed out that the content of her paintings dealt with the idea of nostalgia for the past, so she titled it “Nostalgia” because it is an idea that expresses the details of our daily life, citing some features and images that remind us of old things and stories that we long for.

And about his work, which was titled “A Moment” and showed his interest in reflecting myths on oil paintings in an abstract way, the artist Yazan Al-Gharawi explained that he drew the theme of his paintings from a life experience he is going through, which is the moment in which we escape from the pressures of our day, so he embodied it in four paintings using opaque and bright colors that He used it in most of his paintings.

The artist, Dalaa Glenbo, talked about her experience, which she called “corrosion.” She derived her idea from the rust of iron and its properties, beginning with its formation and ending with its effect on the material and making it more fragile, in addition to its adherence to specific colors, which are rust colors such as brown and reddish-orange, and the use of additional tools such as sand and coal ash.

The exhibition will continue until the fourth of next month.

The director of the Julia Art Hall, Hanan Ibrahim, noted the importance of holding this type of exhibition because of the support and encouragement it carries for young artists and recent graduates in particular, as it represents an opportunity for them to communicate their ideas and point of view to the audience receiving this type of art, and a first step in their professional path after years of study. .
