– Marinus Gruber, spokesman for the Leitzachtal mountain rescue service, reports on a “remarkable operation”.

The emergency services were able to successfully resuscitate a skier in Sudelfeld after several people acted correctly immediately.

Athlete immediately started CPR

As the mountain rescue service describes, the skier suddenly lost consciousness on Wednesday, January 25, shortly after 12 p.m. while riding in a lift.

The athlete was in the upper Sudelfeld in the Monto Gogo button lift when his heart stopped beating.

"Fortunately, there was a young skier from the Bad Aibling area behind the skier in the lift, who immediately began resuscitation measures," Gruber continues.

The responsible lift employee also immediately alerted the mountain rescue service.

"Since the ski rescue service has its base just a few meters from the scene of the accident at the mountain station of the Rosengassen lift, two guards were with the 64-year-old patient in a very short time." Equipped with a defibrillator, the emergency services took over the care.

Then the rescue: "The second surge of electricity from the device was successful, the heart beat again," says Gruber.

Rescue helicopter failed to land

The alerted emergency doctor, who was supposed to come to the scene of the accident by helicopter, could not be dropped off at the scene of the accident because of the high fog.

The mountain rescue service then took the land rescue emergency doctor who had been alerted by snowmobile from the Grafenherberge to the scene of the accident.

With an Akia, a tub-shaped sled, the helpers finally brought the stabilized patient to the ambulance.

The paramedics brought the patient, who, according to the mountain rescue service, comes from the Dachau area, to the Agatharied hospital.
