Our recommendations

This week in the recommendations corner - the "Think Good" podcast by the psychologist and marriage counselor Yehudit Katz, which holds the title of the most played podcast for four years in a row.

Maybe it's the iPhone that targeted me, and maybe it's fate, but what's for sure - the episode "Here I slept and what I dreamed" is a must-hear!

Following news that reached my ears this week, listening to Katz's podcast was like a gift from heaven.

My partner decided to sit me on a chair, and confidently declared: "Mommy, you snore like a small tractor" - a statement that I thought was baseless, but there were those who agreed with him.

In a particularly amateurish test, Dr. Google pulled up "cause of snoring - restless sleep." Not five minutes had passed, and Katz's pod appeared.

"We will sleep in the grave" or "that we will not rise at all"

Katz dives deep into the world of sleep, and hosts Dr. Keren Or-Chen, who researches the field. The two try to understand what happens from the moment we place our head on the pillow, until the waking stage. At the beginning of the talk, Katz asks: "Do you take your sleep Seriously?". It's probably not enough. Or-Chen, who understands that in the modern world "sleep" has become a dirty word, quickly pulls out the statistic: "Eight hours a night = 30 years of life in bed." Before I could get anxious because I'm not getting close to the threshold - and probably I won't get to it either - the soothing ring was quick to arrive: "Not all of us consume sleep to the same extent."

Katz and Or-Chen touch on the different types of sleep patterns, and show the connection between character traits and the number of hours we sleep.

Judith Katz's podcast series combines a wide variety of interviewees with enormous knowledge, and her pleasant voice is still not swallowed up.

In the current episode, Katz shares her love of sleep and the difficulties that arise in its wake.
