Dießen – All good things come in threes: after Regina Metz and Kornelia Mollemeier, the municipality's finance department has a new boss in Gunther Füßle within just three years.

The 48-year-old was previously head of the financial department and treasurer of the independent city of Memmingen.

At the beginning of April he takes over the finance department on the western shore of Lake Ammersee.

For almost 30 years, Max Steigenberger was a reliable and valued guardian of finances in Dießen.

After his retirement, Regina Metz took over the treasury, but had to give up management after just one and a half years for personal reasons.

For the past two months she has been helping out in the finance department on an hourly basis because her successor, Kornelia Mollemeier, threw in the towel after just one year.

Together with an external force, Metz is preparing the 2023 budget, which will soon be discussed and approved.

Gunther Füßle is also busy with this at his current workplace in Memmingen.

He will say goodbye to the new budget at the end of March and will move into his office in Diessen on April 3rd.

Memmingen's Lord Mayor Manfred Schilder regrets the departure of his head of department, "who has dedicated himself to his task with full commitment."

Because in addition to his often ten to twelve-hour working day, the CFO spent a good two hours in the car driving to and from Lengenfeld, where he lives with his family.

Soon he only has a quarter of an hour's drive to the Diessen town hall.

Mayoress Sandra Perzul is looking forward to her new employee there, who has an “enormous wealth of experience”.

Gunther Füßle worked in the district of Landsberg 25 years ago – under the wing of the district treasurer at the time, Jürgen Felbinger.

From there, after attending the Constance University of Applied Sciences, Füßle moved to the Gautingen municipal administration, to the municipal service center in Bad Tölz, to the Mindelheim district office and finally to Memmingen via the Augsburg district.
